Dear Korean Community and citizens of Koreatown,
Every once in a while, we have an opportunity to make a big difference in the world and to do something wonderful for others. I write to request your support for the Rejoice in Hope Foundation at our upcoming two-day event July 20 - 21, 2018 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel to help make a difference for the Korean and Korean-American homeless across Los Angeles county .
Over past year, The Rejoice in Hope Foundation has been providing homeless people from Skid Row and in communities across the country, the opportunity to create a life and reintegrate back into society. I have seen firsthand that by helping one person at time, we can make an impact on society if we come together as a community to help one another.
Last year, following our annual fundraising gala in July 2017 with a wonderful speech by our keynote guest of honor, Consul-General of Thailand the honorable Tanee Sangrat, the Rejoice in Hope Foundation proudly added 47 new ambassadors, local level volunteers in 28 states across the United States and 5 ambassadors in Seoul, South Korea and Busan, South Korea who committed themselves to serving their communities in an effort to make a difference on the issue of homelessness. These ambassadors work with their local homeless shelters, food pantries and with their local area homeless as volunteers and promote the Rejoice in Hope Foundation and our cause of #life4homeless.
The issue of homelessness in the United States is not new and the numbers increase each year, with 57,000 unsheltered homeless in Los Angeles, a 23% increase since 2016. Many of our Korean homeless live in fear and their pride prevents them from seeking help due to language barriers, legal status or bullying. Our Korean homeless are counting on us to show them that there is someone out there who cares in their own community, from their own people.
You care, right?
Of course you do, and I do too.
Without any connection to a government or large organization, I have funded this project completely out of my own pocket thus far. In order to really make an impact, however, I need outside assistance. This is can only be made possible through the generous funding of wonderful people like you to support the efforts of the Rejoice in Hope Foundation in Koreatown. I’m not a large international organization with huge administration costs where the cause only ends up receiving a small percentage of your donation. I’m just one woman with a small army of my ambassadors, who are caring individuals working within their communities to change the lives of people. I have committed to do something good in my life for others, because I was lucky enough to receive the support to pursue my dreams and goals.
Every cent that is donated to the Rejoice in Hope Foundation goes straight to the cause and is accounted for through a clearly shown financial breakdown showing you exactly where and how the money was spent. I don’t receive anything in return for this except to see our Korean homeless regain their dignity and to provide them with the opportunities that should be a basic human right, not just given to the rich or privileged. This is my passion and my legacy for the future.
I need your help. I need strong investors that will make a huge difference to the lives of the Korean homeless in Koreatown. If you believe in my work, I also invite you, your organization, friends, family and loved ones to become an ambassador for the Rejoice in Hope Foundation. Our community needs to come together as one to save our citizens and bring joy to our people.
Thank for your support in advance.
